One location, two concepts, one vision. In the iconic Het Poortgebouw in the Groen Kwartier of Antwerp, we cook plant-based food with the seasons — by day an open neighbourhood café, by night an intimate table for slowing down.
Camion & Camionette began with a simple conviction: that hospitality is more than service, that food is more than a product, and that sustainability is more than a word. Those aren't slogans on a wall — they shape how we source, cook and welcome people every single day.
Everything we put on a plate comes back to a relationship: a grower we know by name, a producer we trust, an artisan whose craft we want to share. We choose organic and local wherever we can, cook with the seasons rather than against them, and let what is available guide the menu instead of the other way around.
The result is a circular practice, not a certification. We buy close to home, use as much of every ingredient as we can, and let the leftovers of one dish become the foundation of the next.
Our kitchen is a small loop between the field, the rooftop and the table. We work with local farmers, producers and artisans who share our rhythm — people who understand that a great tomato needs sun and patience, not a plane ticket.
Menus change as the seasons do: at Camion every four weeks, at Camionette every eight. What can't be bought, we grow ourselves on the rooftop farm, where herbs, greens and edible flowers travel metres instead of miles. What can't be used one day is preserved, fermented or reimagined the next.
The same kitchen, the same philosophy, read at two different tempos.
From eight in the morning, Camion is a place to drop in without occasion — for coffee, fresh juice, breakfast, lunch or a pastry on the way home. Plant-based, seasonal and welcoming, it belongs to the neighbourhood first.
When the doors close and the lights drop, the room becomes Camionette — a plant-based, circular fine-dining table with multi-course menus, considered pairings and time to linger. Fewer covers, more attention, a night that unfolds slowly.
Our food is seasonal, organic and local wherever possible, drawn from nearby farms, small producers and our own rooftop farm. Vegetables lead the plate; everything else is there to support them.
To drink, we pour natural wines chosen for character over convention, alongside crafted alcoholic and non-alcoholic options — ferments, infusions and house-made drinks that receive the same care as the cooking.
A small team with a long memory for growers, guests and good bottles.

Lander leads the kitchen, turning what the season and our growers offer into menus that surprise without shouting. His creativity is rooted in respect for the ingredient.
Behind every service is a team of cooks, hosts and makers who share the same belief. Together they carry the daily work of sourcing, preparing and welcoming — the part of hospitality that never shows on a menu.
Join us for a slow morning or a long evening — both are waiting at the same address in the Groen Kwartier.
